As camps wrap up for most of our students this year, I have been encouraged to hear so many stories of growth from their time away. Each day at staff devotions, we have had the opportunity to hear of students who have stepped into new opportunities, shown their ability to think outside the square, or expressed their desire to lead in ways they’ve not attempted before.
It is inspiring each of us to continue to recognise the holistic growth in the lives of every student. One of the College’s key focus areas for camps is relationship growth; growing stronger relationships with each other and with God, as together, students and staff commit to learning more about God’s world, via the valuable experiences that camps provide.
I’m looking forward to hearing all that our Year 3 students experience on their first camp in Term 3.

Let Go and Let God
In the midst of life's challenges and uncertainties, it can be easy to lose sight of our faith. But trusting God in all circumstances is essential for finding peace, purpose, and hope amidst the struggles we face. It requires surrendering our fears and doubts to God, letting go of control, and trusting in His unfailing love and wisdom.
Trusting God means believing that He has a plan and purpose for our lives, even when we cannot see or understand it. It means acknowledging that God is sovereign over all things and that He is working all things together for our good, even in the midst of trials and hardships. It means having faith that God's promises are true and that He will always provide for our needs.
But trusting God is sometimes easier said than done. It requires us to confront our deepest fears and insecurities and to surrender our desires and plans to His will. It means letting go of our need for control and trusting in God's timing and direction. And it means putting our faith into action by seeking God's guidance, obeying His commands, and stepping out in faith even when it feels uncomfortable or uncertain. Jeremiah 29:11 states, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This verse reminds us that God has a purpose for our lives and that we can trust Him to guide us on our journey.
Trusting God is not a one-time decision but a daily practice. It requires continually surrendering our hearts and minds to God and a willingness to let Him lead us through every circumstance. When we trust in God, we can find peace in the midst of chaos, hope in the face of uncertainty, and joy in the knowledge that we are never alone. The Bible reminds us of God's faithfulness and assures us that He will never leave or forsake us. In Hebrews 13:5, we read, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”
So let us trust in God today and every day, knowing He is faithful and true. Let us place our hope and confidence in His promises and walk forward in faith, knowing that He will guide and sustain us through every circumstance.

Imago Day 2023
Our theme for Imago Day this year is ‘All God’s Children’ as we consider what it means to be Imago Dei - “made in the image of God”.
In the week (Week 10) leading up to Thursday, 30 March the College class devotions will explore what it means to treat each other as God’s children as through faith in Jesus ‘each of you is equal with each other, whether you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or a free person, a man or a woman’ (Galatians 3:28 (CEV)).
On Thursday, 30 March students are encouraged to celebrate the diversity of being ‘All God’s Children’ by wearing cultural dress or, if this is unavailable, they could wear their House sports shirt or a sporting team jersey for the day. Students are encouraged to bring cultural foods for their lunch.

Directions is heading in a new Direction
Over the past few months, the College Executive and Marketing teams have been reviewing parent engagement with our fortnightly Directions newsletter. I am writing to you today to let you know that we are heading in a new direction (pun intended).
At the start of Term 2, Directions will be replaced by Equip. The name Equip should be familiar to you, as it serves as our January newsletter provided to families at the commencement of each new year. Based on the feedback from parents in the 2022 Directions Survey, Equip will be emailed, as well as being made available on the Parent App and College website.
Equip will be distributed to our community twice per term. In Term 2 you will receive Equip in Week 1 and Week 8. This new format will include all the usual notices and articles, along with: · term dates and a calendar of upcoming events, · highlights across ELC, Primary, Secondary, Seed Academy and Ngarra, · stories and updates about our Alumni, and · a lot more photos!
Primary Communication Notes will still be accessible through the Parent App and Parent Links on the website, and App Broadcasts will continue to notify families of relevant updates. For regular photos of recent events, these will continue to be posted on the College's Facebook and Instagram accounts.
We hope that Equip will truly equip you and your families, to continue to engage with and be prepared for all that is happening at the College.
