Student Leadership

The College views student leadership pathways as opportunities for students to serve their peers and local community. A godly leader is one who desires to serve, putting the needs of others ahead of their own. At the College students learn that true leadership is about investing in the life of others so that they can acquire all the skills, opportunities and responsibility to grow into all that God has intended for them.

The College is committed to providing a pathway for developing leaders to grow and use their gifts for the benefit of the College community. We develop the leaders of the future through a comprehensive program that provides support, training, and education in leadership skills through all Stages of schooling. The program grows leadership capacity and recognises leadership gifts, providing opportunities for students to lead and to serve in an area of their choosing and passion.

Primary Years Student Leadership

Primary students learn about leadership throughout their schooling as the interpersonal and organisational skills necessary for leadership are integrated into the Primary classroom curriculum. Students are given opportunities to use and develop their leadership skills throughout the Primary years.

Students in Years 6 are encouraged to undertake specific leadership portfolios, including Captains and Vice Captains, House Captains, Sustainability, Community, Technology and Christian Ministry. The Primary Years’ leadership team attends external leadership workshops to equip them to lead confidently as they focus on their respective portfolios. They meet during the year to plan and coordinate student-led initiatives. Students in Year 5 can apply for these leadership portfolios at the end of Year 5. Students sit for an interview for positions for the following year.
