Thomas is an energetic and enthusiastic teacher. He is passionate about seeing the next generations coming to know the love that Christ has for each and every one of us. He loves that he can share this in the classroom with his other passion, which is music. “I watched the Lord of the Rings film score being performed in the Opera House. This was the moment I wanted to be involved with music.” Thomas studied clarinet at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music receiving his Bachelor of Music (Music Education). While studying at the Conservatorium he also was part of the Chamber Choir which toured internationally to Europe, singing in churches such as Notre Dame and Westminster Abbey.
When Thomas finished his studies, he worked as a music teacher for two years, where he grew in his teaching ability and skills.
Thomas has spent the last two years in the outdoor recreation industry, working for Crusaders camps as a Christian camping leader (Summit Fellow). In this time, he grew in his knowledge of outdoor recreation skills obtaining a Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation. As a part of his camping ministry, he enjoyed guiding bushwalking, rock climbing, sailing, abseiling, canoeing and many more fun outdoor activities. However, the most important growth he saw in his life was the importance of ministry in young people’s lives. He is very excited to be coming back to music teaching as he sees this as a way of using the talents for music that God has given him in order to preach the gospel to his students.
Thomas is very excited for all of the opportunities that await him at Norwest Christian College and “the opportunity to share the Gospel and help students navigate this crazy thing called life.”
