With a Bachelor of Applied Science (Nutrition and Food Technology) and a Masters in Teaching, Shakti joins Norwest teaching Food Technology, Textiles and Science in the Secondary Years. Shakti chose to pursue teaching when she “saw the need for teachers that are passionate about the students welfare, academics and overall wellbeing.” She enjoys helping to unlock the God given potential in every student.
One of the most memorable moments Shakti has had in the classroom was when she was “teaching a Food Technology Class and they prepared a cultural food. They shared it with the class and the enjoyment the students shared from tasting different cultural food was amazing.”
Shakti believes Norwest is unique as a school because of the Building Purposeful Lives framework that enables students to equip themselves with the skills and knowledge to unlock their God given talents and gifts.
When Shakti is not teaching she enjoys travelling and learning about different cultures all around the world. She attends Vineyard Church where she serves as a kids leader and is also passionate about A21, the organisation that works to fight human trafficking and abolish slavery all over the world.
