Pamela’s passion in life is to see people become all that they can be by helping them to discover their purpose and call in life. As a Career Counsellor, this is her core business. Prior to coming to Norwest, Pamela has worked in a wide variety of industries and roles including community services, human resources and recruitment, working with people who are long term unemployed, education, and in her family’s business in telecommunications. Her own dream was to complete a university degree, and in 2006 Pamela graduated from a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in Human Resource Development, and Counselling and Mediation. She then completed a Masters of Career Development majoring in Counselling and Coaching.
Over the past 12 years, Pamela has worked as a Career Counsellor in high schools and in her own private practice. “I have worked with hundreds of young people in their final years of high school. I’ve loved being part of their hopeful futures and in turn being inspired by the great things they are dreaming of doing”, she says. Her great delight is in helping those who are stuck, or can’t see a way forward; to turn things over for them and to bring some hope and purpose back into their futures.
Pamela also has a passion for sharing the gospel with those who have never heard the name of Jesus. Working with World Outreach International, she regularly leads short-term teams to Thailand to work with missionaries and pastors through teaching English and ministry. Citywest Church in Seven Hills is her home church where she is part of the Leadership Team and Board.
Pamela is an adventurer at heart and loves to explore and discover the world. “I am excited to be part of the Norwest community. My heart is for people and I am thankful to be given the opportunity to work with the young people here. I see my role as Career Counsellor as a way to help others explore and discover who God has made them to be. It really is the best job in the world, for me”.
