Ever since she was little, Jessica knew she wanted to teach. “Looking back at it now, I loved the passion all my teachers put into the classroom and learning. Before I chose my degree, I wanted to be one of those teachers. One who made learning fun and engaging for all the children in the classroom.” Now with a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary), Jessica is excited to be joining the team at Norwest as she sees it as an environment where the teachers really care for all the students whilst leading them in both their education and their faith.
Jessica is passionate about Christian Education, “being able to freely teach children about God's love, but also incorporate it into all the children's daily lives both in the classroom and in the playground.”
She is also passionate about inclusion and feels strongly that each child has the right to fit in and feel comfortable in their environment. “I aim to have a classroom where each child does feel comfortable and accepted for who they are where I can cater for each of their individual needs.”
When she isn’t teaching Jessica loves being outdoors and exploring God’s beautiful creation. She enjoys playing soccer or netball and has recently taken up aerials which involves hanging and swinging from hoops. Jessica likes to be creative in the kitchen, trying new recipes that are gluten and dairy free.
Jessica attends Windsor District Baptist Church and is passionate about Children's Ministry, “I love seeing children grow to know God's great love for them and interacting with them. From a young age, it is so important that children are learning about God and His great plan for them.”
