Our Principal is no stranger to Norwest Christian College, having originally completed her final practicum experience here many years ago, and in more recent years as our Deputy Principal. With her many years of teaching and leadership experience it was wonderful to have her appointed to lead our College into the next season. “I have always felt that NWCC is special. It places loving God at the centre of all that it does, whether learning, policies, interactions with students, parents and staff, or events. I believe this is the foundation of a truly excellent education. It is God who made us and therefore knows what we need. When we seek His presence in all that we do, we are onto something very special.”
From an early age, Felicity knew that she wanted to be a Music teacher after being inspired by a newly graduated teacher when she was in Year 7. “I thought that everything she did was amazing. She inspired me to help students find and use their God given creativity,” she says. Felicity is very passionate about having input into the precious lives of young people, and helping students understand that God's plan for their lives is perfect and that even in their complex world He has all the answers. To enhance her capacity to serve as an educational leader, Felicity is currently undertaking a Masters of Educational Leadership at the University of NSW.F
Felicity attends Riverstone Community Church with her family, where she is involved in music ministry and together with her husband heads up the Holiday Kids Club team. “We have somewhere between 70 and 100 children attend from the community, and we share with them how much God loves them and that He has a great plan for their lives. My favourite part of the ministry is watching other young people learn to serve God and find joy and purpose in this.”
All four of Felicity’s children have attended Norwest Christian College starting in Prep and she has watched the transformation of the College. “I have loved seeing God at work in the College throughout these years and I am looking forward to being a part of the next stage of growth. It is an exciting time to be at Norwest as we continue to grow with many new families joining our community and the addition of new learning spaces throughout our College.”
Along with her passion for education, Felicity enjoys playing the piano and violin, singing, gardening, organising cupboards, cooking, especially baking, as well as camping and skiing with her family.
