We welcome Brian as the new Head of Technology and STEM here at Norwest.
Brian is passionate about Christian Education. He wants to see Christian Education realise its core purpose as that of seeking to glorify Christ in our academic excellence and spiritual growth of our students, staff and parent community. This reflects a school culture and organisation shaped by the Kingdom of God. It desires the transformation of the whole person to grow up into Christ (Eph 4: 7-15).
A newspaper journalist once asked Thomas Edison why he experimented and failed so much with the invention of the light bulb. He answered …."I have not failed 700 times. I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 700 ways will not work. When I have eliminated the ways that will not work, I will find the way that will work." Brian says, “I want to inspire and encourage that type of thinking in our students, the next generation! I enjoy seeing the “Aha! Moment”. I love seeing that on student faces when they succeed and learn something new in my classes and Australian Aeronautical Velocity Challenge STEM club.”
Brian is a passionate educator and leader of students and staff. He is committed to bringing the best to the workplace in order to bring the greatest success possible to students. Specialist interest areas include teacher professional development, ICT integration, awakening student possibilities with and about STEM, and building rockets and robots.
He likes to tinker in the shed at home and enjoys gardening, camping and travelling Australia with Jennifer his wife and children Elizabeth and Edward.
Brian went to school at Doonside Primary and Doonside High, completed a Bachelor of Industrial Arts Education at Sydney Uni, Masters of Design and Technology, Preliminary Theological Certificate at Moore College.
