Music in the Primary Years
Students in the Primary Years have a weekly Music lesson with a qualified specialist.
In Years K - 2 the focus is on singing, percussion and movement, where students are encouraged to enjoy their music and to express themselves through the various activities.
Years 3 – 6 build on previous experience and students spend time learning to read music notation. Within this program students focus on a set instrument in each year of school;
- Year 3 – Drums & Percussion
- Year 4 - Recorder
- Year 5 – Guitar

This program is designed to help students discover many musical instruments and develop their ability and confidence as a performer as they move into the Secondary Years.
